Driven By Food, 8x60 Series
Executive Producer: Dan O'Brien, Co-EP: Liz Tracy with Intuitive Content
Travel Channel's highest ever rated new series. Driven by Food started as a network executive's idea to see Andrew ride around with cab drivers in different cities. We took that idea, identified cities with interesting cab culture and set off on an ambitious mission to cast bona fide cabbies - with deep local knowledge and natural talent - to be entertaining sidekicks. We figured out how to rig London Black Cabs, rickshaws and minivans to capture unscripted banter between Andrew and his guide for an authentic "buddy-film" experience. To set it apart from Zimmern's earlier work, we committed to high production value and an updated storytelling style, and we expanded his area of expertise beyond the "bizarre" to include rich cultural experiences and a wide range of world cuisine. It's an eye-opening global tour with 8 episodes filmed in Hyderabad, Chicago, Berlin, Rio, London, Nashville, Bangkok, and Medellin.
The Navigator's Table, 6 Episode Branded Series
Executive Producer: Dan O'Brien with Intuitive Content
Marriott Renaissance Hotels was looking for ways to appeal to the young business traveler. We saw the opportunity to encourage working travelers to explore the cities they visit - embracing Renaissance's mantra, Business Unusual. We arranged for Andrew Zimmern to share a meal with local influencers and get their recommendations for a "business unusual" experience in the city they love.
This 6-episode in-hotel branded series with social media extensions (YouTube, Twitter and Instagram) was a measurable marketing success that generated thousands of click-throughs to room buys.
The Tim Ferris Experiment, 13 Episode series for Apple
Co-EP: Liz Tracy with Zero Point Zero
Developed out of Ferris' popular life-hacking books, this series follows along as Tim puts his own advice to the test. Our job was to turn Tim's complex principals of learning into visually dynamic and emotionally engaging stories. We worked with him to identify challenges that would appeal to his already established fan base. To draw new audiences, we teamed him up with the world's best teachers - luminaries like Laird Hamilton, Stewart Copeland, Marcelo Garcia and Tim O'Neil. We developed a graphics package to reflect Tim's tech-savvy roots and give viewers additional takeaway information. We also produced web extras where viewers could find more in-depth content.
The 13-part series aired on iTunes and ranked #1 Factual Series with its launch.
Fixer Upper
Field Director: Liz Tracy with High Noon Entertainment
This is HGTV's most popular show, starring Chip and Joanna Gaines. Liz directed the pilot episode that kicked off one of cable television's most successful series. Chip and Joanna were running a small house flipping business and Joanna had a knack for interior design - but they had no on-camera experience. In the field, Liz worked with Chip and Jo to stay true to themselves and go with their natural chemistry and easy rapport for an honest and appealing TV presence that has drawn record-setting viewership. The show was the catalyst for the Gaines to expand their business into a home improvement empire including a shopping market in Waco, a book and magazine publishing arm, and multiple product lines.
Andrew Zimmern's Bucket List: New York
Executive Producer: Dan O'Brien with Intuitive Content
Born out of a Zimmern article in Delta Sky Magazine about his favorite places to eat, we launched a new series, Andrew Zimmern's Bucket List. We developed a storytelling approach that would emphasize the experience - the place, characters, look and vibe - surrounding each must-try food. The challenge was to capture and convey the magic that made it stand out to a man who has traveled everywhere and tasted everything. It was Travel Channel's 2nd-highest rated premiere.
